The GameCube and Wii emulator, Dolphin Emulator, will officially be coming to Steam. The emulator is currently listed on Steam for release in Q2 2023. Interestingly, the screenshot used to showcase Dolphin Emulator on Steam does not display any GameCube or Wii games, nor does it mention the word “Nintendo” anywhere on the page.

Here’s the official statement from one of the Dolphin Emulator contributors, MayImilae:

“When we launch it on Steam, we will have a feature article detailing the Steam release process and features. We’re excited to finally announce our experiment to the world. It’s been months of work, and we can’t wait to get it into the hands of users!”

A Dolphin Emulator developer in the Discord community also confirmed (via PC Gamer) that the Steam version will allow users to select the emulator version they are currently developing. It will be fascinating to see how this emulator develops leading up to its official release. Let’s wait and see until the official release.

About Dolphin Emulator

The Dolphin Emulator has been around for quite some time, allowing users to play GameCube and Wii games on their PCs. The emulator has gained a reputation for being reliable and accurate in replicating the gameplay experience of the original consoles.

Bringing the emulator to Steam will undoubtedly make it more accessible to gamers who are looking for an authentic retro gaming experience. It will also allow Dolphin Emulator to reach a wider audience and potentially attract more developers to the project.

The Dolphin Emulator has been a passion project for the Stichting Dolphin Emulator team, and they have been working tirelessly to bring it to a wider audience. We look forward to seeing the emulator on Steam and experiencing classic games like never before.
